Bath Villager dies after receiving 14 bullets

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – NEVIS recorded its second murder for the year when a 25-year-old was shot to death early this morning (Aug. 22).
Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that Akeon Claxton of Bath Village received some 14 bullets to his body and died in the vicinity of the water tank in the village. The incident took place sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m.
Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department in Nevis are investigating.
Claxton’s death has brought to 19 the number of homicides in the Federation; two on Nevis and 17 on St. Kitts.
The first homicide on Nevis took place shortly before 5:00 a.m. in Grove Park Alley in the vicinity of the Cultural Complex on Tuesday, August 3.
According to information reaching this media house, 31-year-old Stephen ‘Lick Shot’ Thomas of Phillips’ Village, St. Kitts was shot multiple times to the body, including his chest, abdomen and arm. He was at the time residing in Stoney Grove with his girlfriend.
Additional information indicates that he was at the Bull Pen (an entertainment area adjoining the Cultural Complex), where he had an altercation with a group of men. Shortly after that he was allegedly lured by a young woman to the back of a yard in Grove Park Alley and was shot by a masked man.
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF'S NOTE: Conttrary to the final sentence in this article, police have confirmed that Thomas was not lured by a young woman, but was the one who had arranged for himself and a female companion to be seated at the back of a yard in Grove Park Alley.
