Roadtown, Tortola - The Development Planning Unit (DPU) will officially launch its new website today and promises a more user friendly experience.

The improved website provides the public with direct access to statistics, publications, reports and information on ongoing surveys and events undertaken by the department.  As an added feature persons can also submit data requests and feedback online by completing a request form.

Acting Director of the DPU Ms. Patlian Johnson told the Department of Information and Public Relations “The new website has been in production for a couple of months and the unit is excited to provide a more user friendly means of disseminating information.” Ms. Johnson added that “the website is a work in progress and information will be constantly added to it so that users are provided with the latest updates.”

The previous website had outdated information and was not very user friendly therefore having a revamped website will assist the department in providing information to stakeholders on a timely basis, reduce the number of requests for data and eliminate the need to provide hard copies of reports and publications.

    The DPU’s website is
www.dpu.gov.vg.  The Acting Director encourages persons to log onto the website and provide feedback.  “This will assist in ensuring that the website continuously meets the needs of our users,” she stated.

The Development Planning Unit is responsible for acquiring and analysing statistics to facilitate economic planning and analysis. The unit functions under the umbrella of the Premier’s Office.
