The Program will provide support in a variety of business management areas. At the Ceremony, held at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel (formerly Jack Tar), Mrs. Carlene Henry- Morton, the Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Tourism, lauded the Companies for their continued contribution to the local Tourism space, noting that they are Retail Ambassadors for the Country.
She explained that some of the pro bono services to be provided to the Business Owners include:
• Accounting
• Inventory Management
• Employee Developmental training
• Videography
• Still Photography
• Marketing
• Event Planning
Permanent Secretary Henry- Morton then went on to introduce Noah Mills, Managing Director of SEN Consulting, who is the Lead Consultant on the Project. SEN Consulting has provided professional services locally and regionally. Regionally, they have done work in Barbados, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos, St. Lucia, Dominica, Anguilla, Montserrat, Antigua, and the BVI.
In giving remarks, Mr. Mills thanked the Ministry for allowing SEN Consulting to partner with the Ministry for this hugely-important Project. Mills explained that the idea was born from a series of Tourism and Hospitality Training Seminars that his Company delivered during 2018. During the Workshops, the need for providing this type of support to young Entrepreneurs surfaced. Subsequently, the Ministry of Tourism, in its continued quest to contribute meaningfully to the development of the local Small Business landscape, eagerly seized the opportunity to implement said Program.
SEN Consulting has mobilized other local Consultants to join in providing the required services. The first Cohort of Micro Business will enjoy the aforementioned services for 12 months.
When interviewed, all 6 of the Business Owners who attended the Ceremony thanked the Ministry for its continued support, and stated that they were excited to be a part of this new initiative.
