53-year-old shot in Lodge Project

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST when the nation was enjoying a few months of relative calm in serious crime, a 53-year-old male was shot early yesterday morning (Jun. 1) in Lodge Project and is currently warded at the Joseph N France Hospital.

     

    According to a police communiqué, at approximately 4:00 a.m. yesterday, officers had responded to a report of a shooting incident in Lodge Project.

    So far, investigations have revealed that Wendel ‘Elis’ Wilson, aresident of the said area, was walking towards his motor pickup when an unknown masked assailant fired several shots at him.

    One of the shots struck him in his right thigh and he was transported to the hospital, where he is currently warded after being treated for his injury.

    The scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into police custody. 
     
    The communiqué also stated that one person was taken into custody to assist the police with their investigation into the incident.
     
    Investigations into the matter are ongoing and the police are asking anyone who might have information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crimes Unit by dialling 467-1887 or 467-1888, 662-3468 or by calling the Crime Hotline at 707.
