KINGSTON Jamaica - MANY fans were left disappointed last night (Aug. 24) after Grammy award winner Sean Paul was forced to cancel his free performance at the Martin Luther King Jr. Concert series in Brooklyn.

According to CaribWorldNews.com, cancellation was due to laryngitis and the advice of his doctor. “I am really disappointed that I was not able to appear,” Sean Paul said in a statement. “I`ve been working very hard these last few weeks to deliver the album to my fans. I was looking forward to performing the new tracks in Brooklyn.”

The media house stated that he has been on an extensive tour of the US in support of his fourth album, Imperial Blaze. The promotional tour, which has extended for several weeks, has taken him across the country for several interviews and appearances. His extensive work scheduled is thought to have contributed to the throat problem which led to the cancellation.

He recently released his new album, titled Imperial Blaze, which features the ‘So Fine’ single and quickly became the most downloaded Reggae/Dancehall song in France, Canada, Belgium, Norway and Sweden.

Sean Paul is known primarily for his airtime devouring, party-engineered, reggae pop tracks but, for his recent album, the singer said that he wants to take a more responsible path and focus on youth violence in Jamaica.

Some of the tracks from the new socially conscious Sean Paul’s album include ‘She Want Me’, ‘Birthday Suit’, ‘Hold My Hand’ and ‘Don't Tease Me.’
