BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man is in custody assisting police with their investigations into an armed robbery in which two students of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) were shot in West Farm on Tuesday (Jun. 18).

According to a police press release, the lawmen have also recovered the stolen vehicle that the armed bandit used to flee the scene.

In a previous press release, police informed that preliminary investigations revealed that the incident occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday while Jason Ghuman of Mattingley was driving P1897 along the Island Main Road from RUSVM with Hannah Adamson of West Farm as a passenger.

When the vehicle had gotten to Adamson’s residence, they were approached by an armed bandit who demanded money from them.

Ghuman exited the vehicle and the bandit shot him in his right instep while Adamson was grazed by a bullet to the back of her head.

The bandit then fled the scene in Ghuman’s vehicle.

The two shooting victims were transported to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where Adamson was treated and discharged while Ghuman remained warded in stable condition.

The scene was processed by members of the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into custody.
