Rashada Robinson & Kais Masson win Miss Teen Diva & Junior Diva titles

As the 2009 Miss Teen Diva and Miss Junior Diva Pageant began with a rousing introduction dance by the three teen and three junior contestants, the crowd was already enthused with thoughts of who would be crowned.
Saturday evening’s segments for the teens and the juniors were Diva Party Wear, Creative School Wear, Futuristic Wear, African Diva Wear and Formal Wear. The teens also competed in the Final Analysis for the Miss Intellect award.
After a very fashionable and creative competition by the teens, 17 year-old Rashada Robinson was crowned Miss Teen Diva 2009 and also captured prizes for Best Diva Party Wear, Best Futuristic Wear, Best African Diva Wear, Best Formal Wear, Miss Congeniality and Miss Intellect. Fayana Antoine won Best School Wear and Danielle Charles won Miss Popularity.
For the juniors, who all shined, the first ever Miss Junior Diva is eight year-old Kais Masson, who won Best Diva Party Wear, Best Diva School Wear, Best Futuristic Wear and Best Formal Wear. Six year-old Najaire Campbell captured the Best African Diva Wear prize and eight year-old Aryanna Barrett won Miss Popularity.
The night’s performers, dancer Quame Prince, vocalist April Glasgow accompanied by Oren ‘Smoke’ Hodge on the guitar, dancers J.A.D. and R&B/Hip Hop group V.I. Lander All-Stars, kept the audience entertained with their high quality showcase of our Virgin Islands’ talents. The Miss Teen BVI Contestants also made a presentation to the audience inviting everyone to their upcoming event.
The Committee was very pleased with the performance of all the contestants and wishes them all the best in the upcoming school year and in all their endeavors. Special thanks is extended to all sponsors, the entertainers, parents of the contestants, chaperones, the judges, news media, DJ Infamous, the audience and to all who made the night a success.
Our new Miss Teen Diva 2009, Rashada Robinson, will be performing community service during her reign and is expected to attend activities of Virgin Islands Fashion Week in St. Thomas which runs from October 6-12, 2009.
