Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 18th, 2019 -- Enterprise Businesses and Government agencies were invited to a special corporate event hosted by C&W Business in St. Kitts and Nevis. The event which was titled ‘Momentum’ was designed to give local businesses in the Federation an extra ‘push’ to meet their business targets through a range of specialized business solutions targeted at various critical areas of business operations. A large group of local business owners and government agencies assembled in the Conference room at the Ocean Terrace Inn and were treated to customized presentations from several Regional C&W Business experts including Business Solutions Architects and Business Development Managers.

C&W Business is the corporate brand of Cable & Wireless which is the leading communications and entertainment provider in the region. The company presented on several topics including, Network Security, Hospitality and Digital Signage and Business Continuity.

The event kicked off with an address from Flow’s General Manager, St. Kitts & Nevis, David Lake who welcomed guests and stressed the importance of understanding how business owners in the region were especially exposed to threats of interruption from Natural Disasters, like Hurricanes. Lake said, “While we know our islands are considered tropical paradise, residents and business owners know that everything can change in an instant following a natural disaster. Today our team will demonstrate the ‘peace of mind’ that comes with knowing your critical data is protected and immediately available to you following a hurricane or disaster through our Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solution. This is just one of the many customized solutions we will showcase that are designed to meet the needs of businesses in the Federation”.

Kimberley Roper, C&W Business Solution Architect for Networking and Security, had the audience glued to her presentation as she outlined how businesses with less than 250 employees, were 81% more likely to face a cyber security attack. “1 in every 5 businesses will face some type of attack this year”, Roper said. She outlined the need to protect the ‘front door’ or access point to your business and how C&W Business could then layer additional levels of threat protection on top of this basic protection.

The event was also attended by Hon. Vincent Byron, Minister with responsibility for Telecommunications who in an interview given to local radio station WinnFM said, “I was excited by the products showcased by C&W Business, many of them have the ability to improve life, work and play for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis. They [C&W Business] have assembled a team of regional experts who have come to show businesses in St. Kitts and Nevis how they can improve the way they serve their customers, and how they can help to improve industries here and we are happy to show our support as we believe they will also help to improve the lives of Kittitians and Nevisians.”

Audience members also walked away with some great prizes including 1 FREE month of Flow TV service, 30 day Always-On Prepaid Data plans and the grand prize of an Apple iPhone i0S smart device.
