BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A male resident of Conaree Village is warded at the JNF Hospital after being shot in his home on Wednesday, August 26.
According to a press release from the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Cromwell Henry, at about 11:15 p.m. on August 26, police responded to a report of shooting at Conaree.
“Investigations revealed that Shawn Rogers, alias 5 Pack, of Conaree and Malvern Walwyn, alias Fluffy, of hard times, Gingerland were in Roger’s bedroom when someone fired several rounds through a bedroom window,” the release said.
It further stated that Rogers was wounded in the attack and a police vehicle transported him to the JNF Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and is warded in stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Barbadian pathologist Dr. Stephen Jones on Wednesday (Aug. 26) performed an autopsy on the body of the late Akeon Claxton and concluded that death was due to haemorrhage and shock as a result of gunshot injuries.
Sometime between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, the 25-year-old was on his way home when he was shot multiple times to his body and died in the vicinity of the water tank in Bath, Nevis; the village where he resided.
Claxton’s death is the second homicide to have been committed on Nevis and the 19th in the Federation for the year. According to the police, no arrest has been made but investigations are ongoing.
