Bob Marley is dead but his music lives on

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE ‘One Love’ reggae singer, Robert Nesta Marley, known to the world as Bob Marley and the greatest reggae artiste out of Jamaica, has been dead for  28 years but today his music continues to live on.
     
    According to CaribWorldNews.com, two of the Jamaican icon`s albums were this week among the top-selling reggae albums ranked by sales data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. 
     
    ‘I Know A Place’and ‘B Is For Bob’ by Bob Marley and The Wailers both secured the number two and three spots respectively on the Billboard Reggae album charts this week. 
     
    Marley was born on February 6, 1945 and died May 11, 1981. His musical career begun in the 1960s; he was a singer, songwriter and musician. He was the lead singer, songwriter and guitarist for the Ska, Rock Steady and Reggae band, the Wailers, in 1964 to 1974, and Bob Marley & the Wailers from 1974 to 1981.
     
    Marley remains the most widely known and revered performer of Reggae music, and is credited for helping spread both Jamaican music and the Rastafari movement of which he was a committed member.
     
    He had many, many hits, and some of the more popular ones include ‘I Shot the Sheriff’, ‘No Woman, No Cry’, ‘Exodus’, ‘Could You Be Loved, ‘Stir It Up’, ‘Jamming, ‘Redemption Song’,  ‘Three Little Birds’, ‘Buffalo Soldier’ and ‘Iron Lion Zion’.
