Nevis businessman thwarts attempted break-in by gunmen

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – REPORTS reaching this publication states that a number of armed men had entered the Paradise Estate premises of Nevis’ top real estate developer, Deon Daniel, but were greeted with a hail of bullets.


    The incident reportedly occurred shortly before midnight on Thursday (Aug. 15), and it is the belief of many that the armed men had intended to commit a robbery.

    No one was reportedly injured during the incident.

    A police communiqué however stated that the matter is currently being investigated by ranks of the Nevis Division.

    The communiqué also stated that it is being alleged that several persons had entered Daniel’s yard with what appeared to be firearms.

    “Mr. Daniel, a licensed firearm holder, discharged his weapon [a] number of times at the persons,” it added.

    The police are appeal to anyone who might have information regarding the incident to contact the Cotton Ground Police Station at 469-5269.
