BASSETERRE, St. Kitts -THE St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots has announced Kjorn Ottley and Jason Mohammad as cover for two players who would be unavailable for several matches in the upcoming Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Tournament.
In a media statement yesterday (Aug. 21), CPL said the two cricketers are temporary replacements for Isuru Udana and Aaron Jones, both of whom they had selected at the Hero CPL draft.
CPL said Udana would be unavailable for the first two games of the season due to Sri Lanka’s ongoing series against New Zealand. He would however be replaced by Trinidadian batsman Jason Mohammad.
Mohammad is an experienced campaigner. He had played for the Guyana Amazon Warriors last season and has so far scored 1,211 runs in T20 cricket.
Jones, the Patriots’ ICC Americas pick at the draft, will be playing for the USA until September 14.
The draft rules allow for the ICC Americas player to be temporarily replaced by a Caribbean national.
While away on international duty, Jones will be replaced by Kjorn Ottley, who was the leading run scorer for the Combined Colleges and Campuses team in the most recent Regional Super50 Competition in which his team was victorious.
