Florida Residents Andres Loor and Cirene Bula visit BVI to claim prize after 2 years

Road Town, Tortola, August 22, 2019…. Hialeah Florida residents, Andres Loor and Cirene Bula were excited when they landed in the British Virgin Islands on August 12th to claim their prize from the British Virgin Islands’ 2017 Miami Open Promotion. The prize, a 7-night stay at a Sotheby’s International Realty vacation home, was one of the on-court giveaways the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board provided to bring international focus on the destination at the 2017 Miami Open.

As the exclusive Caribbean destination sponsor of the Miami Open, the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board was able to collaborate with industry partner, Sotheby’s International Realty to present an on-court trip giveaway during the 2017 Miami Open. Other benefits of the sponsorship included a branded tennis speed serve cage at the venue, a booth, a Hospitality Suite, scholarships for aspiring BVI Youth athletes to attend the prestigious IMG Academy in Florida and other special activations highlighting the destination.

“We were pleased to host Andres and Cirene in the BVI where they finally realized their prize vacation. We are delighted that they were able to visit other islands and visit some of our many attractions and most of all relax. Our partnership with the Miami Open has yielded benefits and allowed us to reach large numbers of our target demographic through a less conventional avenue,” said Director of Tourism, Sharon Flax Brutus.

Catching up with the couple after their stay in the Territory, Cirene had the following comment, “It has been a fantastic week, although time passed by fast, we have enjoyed every second of it. We will definitely come back someday with friends and family to enjoy and create great memories!”

Promotion at events serving the BVI’s key demographics, such as the Miami Open, is one of the marketing strategies of the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board.

    About the British Virgin Islands
Known as a treasured destination rich in undiscovered experiences, the British Virgin Islands (BVI) is an alluring archipelago comprising 60 islands and cays located 80 kilometers (60 miles) east of Puerto Rico, in the northwestern region of the Caribbean Sea. The main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke have attracted travelers globally with their cultural Caribbean authenticity. Located in Tortola, Road Town is the BVI’s capital.

Ranked #1 Best Place to Visit in the Caribbean by U.S. News for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, the BVI is where nature’s best secrets are kept with an abundance of pristine beaches, azure seas, towering sage mountains and burnt-orange sunsets. It’s no wonder the BVI’s Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke were featured on the “Top Islands in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas” list in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards 2017 and 2018.

Despite its status as a United Kingdom territory, the BVI uses the U.S. dollar as its official currency. The BVI Tourist Board invites everyone to experience the tropical mystique of the country’s unparalleled and enriching offerings. For more information, visit www.bvitourism.com.
