WhiteGate area residents optimistic about impending opening of “Ramada St. Kitts”

By: CommunityRelations, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – As the progress continues at “Ramada St. Kitts” in preparation for the opening, Whitegate area residents are expressing great optimism for the trickle-down effect the changes the Ramada will have on the area.

Owner of a small family Grocery in St. Pauls, Bevis Hutchinson is one such individual.  Hutchinson said, “I look forward to the opening in hopes that it will bring new customers … with a staff of a few hundred at the Ramada. I hope I will see new faces in my grocery.”

He added that the potential economic impact on the community will be enormous and said: “It will bring employment opportunities for the young people in the area and provides opportunities to create start-up businesses to cater to the visitors.

Equally important to the store owner was having the influx of persons from other communities in St. Kitts and Nevis going to that part of the island.”

Further in St. Pauls, two elderly gentlemen at a domino table weighed on the impressive development. They said, “Property owners in St. Pauls should also be optimistic” as a spin-off of the new resort will be a chance for home owners to get empty family houses and apartments rented by employees coming into the area. They noted that many may not want to commute from Basseterre and other areas daily.

“It’s going to be an exciting time when Ramada opens,” said Ruby, a resident of Newton Ground.  “I can go to breakfast, or dinner right here, down the road from our village, we don’t have to go to town, or Frigate Bay all the time. We will have options.”

The anticipation by residents is certainly building, and the embrace of Ramada St. Kitts is clearly taking shape in the community.

The Caribbean Galaxy multi-million dollar Ramada Project involves building a top resort with first-rate apartments, garden villas and pool villas. It will also include a shopping plaza, business centre, beach club, and other amenities catering to entertainment, business, leisure, tourism and vacation.

Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Ltd. is a hotel development company founded in 2014. Galaxy is dedicated to advancing economic development in the Caribbean by developing upscale resort properties that will attract affluent travelers to the Islands they serve.
