Prime Minister Harris praises the leadership of Covenant Outreach Ministries of Phillips

By: Peter Ngunjiri, Press Release

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 9, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Federation’s Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, on Sunday September 8 congratulated the leadership and membership of the Convent Outreach Ministries at a special 18th anniversary worship service held at the church in Phillips Estate Yard.

Prime Minister Harris recalled when Apostle Wrenville Thomas wrote to him seeking support to access a building at Phillips Estate Yard to do the work of God. He observed that at that time he had to consider whether Apostle Thomas if granted the facility he would continue to do the work of God. In the eighteen years since the granting access of the building, noted the Prime Minister, the pastor and capable servant of God had kept God’s message powerfully alive.

“I am happy I was there in the beginning and I am indeed happy that I took the decision then that the community of Phillips that I represent - the people of Phillips, who I love would be better off by having their church right here,” said Prime Minister Harris. “Eighteen years after, I think it was one of the best decisions I have made for this church.”

According to the Honourable Prime Minister, the church has become a source of inspiration for those in the Team Unity family in the constituency, through its warm welcome, special invitation and prayers. Host Pastors are Apostle Wrenville Thomas, and his wife Prophetess Tamarah Thomas.

“When other churches were leaving Phillips Village, Apostle Wrenville and his wife (Tamarah) decided to come in because something good can come out of the community of Phillips,” observed Dr Harris. “So I want to praise them and to thank them, and to hail those who have been there like me in the beginning and continue to be there.”

The church has also played a great role in the way children are brought up and the Prime Minister noted it was a blessing for parents when they see their children coming up in admonition, in care and consideration of the Lord, adding that so long as the children stay in the church - stay with divine instructions - the parents should not worry as the children are going to make the right decisions.

A new headquarters for the Explorers Youth Clubs that will be housing the members is coming up next to the church and Prime Minister Harris, who is also the Minister of National Security, said: “I want this church to become their home church. So on behalf of all of us, the Cabinet of the country, the people of my constituency, who have come out today in such numbers, the people of the Team Unity Movement, I want again to say thank you. God bless this church, God guide the leadership, bless them and direct them so the prosperity which you have promised will not be denied them.”

The message which was based on Isaiah 40:26-31, was delivered by Pastor John Bradley of Miracle Temple in Lodge Project, while assisting in the worship service were Apostle Paul Bridgewater and Pastor Andrea Bridgewater. Special friends of Apostle Thomas, Apostle Trevor Huggins and Prophetess Michele Huggins were invited to pray for Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.

Dr Harris, who is also the National Political Leader of the Peoples Labour Party (PLP) was accompanied by PLP’s National Chairman Mr Warren Thompson, PLP’s Women’s Arm Representative Mrs Sonia Henry, PLP Founder Member Mr Williams Phillip, members of Constituency Number Seven PLP Group, Chairman of the PLP Constituency Number Five Executive Branch Mr Glenville Mills, and Deputy Chairperson Ms Marsha Lewis.
