Autopsy confirms Rubaine died by drowning

By: Stanford Conway,

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN autopsy performed on the body of Marcus Rubaine of Saddlers Village confirmed that he had died by drowning.

The autopsy was performed by Resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez on Friday (Sept. 13), who concluded that death was as a result of asphyxia due to drowning.

At about 7:00 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 7), the 23-year-old had reportedly left his home and went diving at Lavington Bay with an individual.

Some time later while diving, he experienced difficulties and drowned.

His body was taken to the shore by a civilian and a unit from the Emergency Medical Services was summoned to the scene.

Also summoned to the scene was the District Medical Doctor who pronounced him dead.
