Middle-aged man shot in Keys Village

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating an incident in which a 53-year-old man was shot in Keys Village.

     

    The wounded man’s name was given as Ivan Dunrod of West Bourne Ghaut.

    According to a police communique, while by a shop in Keys Village some time after 5:00 p.m. yesterday (Sept. 18), an assailant had approached and shot Donrod in his arm.

    In a bid to escape from his assailant, Donrod ran from the scene and met a member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force who was in the area.

    With the use of a police vehicle, the lawman transported him to the Joseph N France General Hospital, where he was treated for his injury and is said to be in a stable condition.

    Members from the Crime Scene Unit had visited and processed the scene.
     
    The police are appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 662-3468, the nearest police station or call the Crime Hotline at 707.
