Man charged with Burglary, Rape and Buggery of Newton Ground woman

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER almost four months of diligent work by sleuths of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, a man was formally arrested and charged with Burglary, Rape and Buggery.

     

    According to a police communiqué, the man was charged today (Sept. 30) and remains in police custody.

    On the morning of Tuesday, June 4, 2019, residents of Newton Ground woke up to the horrific news of one of their own was sexually assaulted and robbed.

    At approximately 3:00 a.m. on the aforementioned date, three armed individuals had entered a woman’s home in the Newton Ground area and sexually assaulted her as well as robbing her of a number of personal items.

    According to a police communiqué at that time, the trio had fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

    However, no word has been forthcoming from the police with regards to the charged man’s accomplices.
