October 11, 2019; Road Town, Tortola, Virgin Islands -- The Charter Yacht Society of the BVI announces that its 38th Annual BVI Charter Yacht Show, hosted by Nanny Cay Marina, will be held from November 7 through November 10, 2019. Nanny Cay Resort and the BVI Tourist Board head the list of 27 local and Caribbean sponsors who make the Show possible.

Since the inception of the Show in 1982, it has provided a venue for Charter Yacht crews to display their vessels and to meet and interact directly with a global network of well over 100 charter brokers. These brokers are specialized travel agents who visit the BVI specifically to attend the Show. Their mission is to book the BVI's crewed charter yachts and encourage their clientele to explore and enjoy Nature's Little Secrets. As it is an industry show, it is not open to the public, except by special invitation.

Additionally, the Show offers the opportunity for over 30 local businesses to feature their products and services during an evening organized to engage the vendors with the crews and, by extension, their guests. The vendors range from provisioners and restaurants to florists and taxis and everything in between. This also allows the brokers the opportunity to familiarize themselves with what is on offer. Another evening features a "Yacht Hop" during which brokers visit participating yachts who entertain them as they would their charter guests, thus creating the feel of the charter experience.

This year's Charter Boat Show promises to be the largest since Irma, featuring approximately 50 of the finest fully crewed charter yachts, two thirds of which are BVI based. The members of the Charter Yacht Society currently generate around $30 Million, annually, for the territory's economy; immediately pre-Irma, this number was in excess of $50 Million, which was roughly equal to the cruise ship industry, according to official Government statistics, at the time. As the fleet rebuilds to its former size, the crewed charter industry looks forward to matching those numbers in the future.

The Charter Yacht Society is the voice and advocate for the independently owned and operated crewed charter operators. As well as running the Show, its purpose is to promote the crewed yacht industry and foster a harmonious relationship with the government and local business. In addition to Nanny Cay and the Tourist Board, other major sponsors of the 2019 BVI Charter Yacht Show include Addison Yacht Charters, Digicel, Sol, Island Time Water Taxi, Parts and Power, Doyle Sailmakers, Golden Hind Chandlery and Riteway.
