Basseterre, St. Kitts – October 17, 2019 -- Police officer Alex Henry is grateful and happy to have had two “second chances” in the now-concluded Caribbean Lottery Pick 4 Supermarket Sweep promotion.
The Supermarket Sweep, a partnership between Caribbean Lottery and Ram’s Supermarket at Buckley’s, offered players the opportunity to win grocery vouchers valued at $350, $250 and $100. The Caribbean Lottery team was present at the F & H Frisco gas station when Mr. Henry stopped by. He was encouraged to play five boards of Pick 4 in a single bet for the chance to win an on-the-spot prize and qualify for the Supermarket Sweep.
At the end of the promotion on September 7, 2019, three winners were randomly selected using the serial number on their ticket. None came forward, and so a second draw took place. Mr. Henry’s ticket serial number was one of the three randomly selected. He was the only winner to come forward and qualify for the Supermarket Sweep.
At Ram’s Supermarket, Mr. Henry, a St. Vincent native who has lived in St. Kitts for the past two years, had just forty seconds to race through the aisles, grabbing as many groceries as possible up to a value of $350. If he exceeded this amount, he would pay the balance. However, at the end of his run, he only racked up $190.70. Since his bill was short, he was allowed to walk back through the store to collect additional items. These added up to $382 and Caribbean Lottery covered the entire grocery bill.
Sabina Harrinarain, Office Manager at Caribbean Lottery, congratulated Mr. Henry on his win. “We are happy that he was able to qualify for our Supermarket Sweep and to offer him this opportunity to stock up on groceries. Mr. Henry expressed his gratitude for this unusual opportunity to win a substantial amount of groceries. “This came at the right time for me,” he said, confirming that he has been playing Caribbean Lottery games for just over one year and he will continue to do so.
