Man in custody for stabbing woman in Dieppe Bay

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young woman is currently hospitalised after allegedly being stabbed multiple times by a man last evening (Oct. 26).

     

    According to a press release, at about 6:15 p.m. yesterday, police received a report of a stabbing incident in the Dieppe Bay area.

    Preliminary investigations revealed that 28-year-old Myrthlyn Mitchell of Dieppe Bay was attacked and stabbed several times about the body with a knife. 

    Police had transported her to the Pogson Medical Centre and she was subsequently transferred to the JNF Hospital, where she is listed as being in a stable condition. 

    The offender, according to the police, had fled the scene but was later taken into custody.

    The scene was processed by members of the Forensic Services Unit.
     
    The police is appealing to anyone who might have any information regarding this incident to contact the Violent Crime Unit by dialling 662-5862 or by calling the Crime Hotline at 707.
