Driver sustains broken leg in traffic accident

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE driver of a passenger bus was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Halfway Tree on Monday (Oct. 28).

     

    Police have reported that they are investigating the accident, which occurred at about 9:45 a.m. on the day in question.

    The accident had involved HA415, which is owned and was driven by Kadeem Warner of Newton Ground, and PB3890, which is owned by Carib Brewery (St. Kitts and Nevis) Ltd. and was driven by Marlon Strawn of Cayon.

    Circumstances are that HA415 was travelling along the Island Main Road from Basseterre, and when it got into Halfway Tree the driver collided with the back of PB3890.

    The impact caused Warner to be stuck in the vehicle and members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services were summoned to the scene to extricate him.

    He sustained a broken leg and was transported to the JNF General Hospital via ambulance, where he remains warded in a stable condition.
