Toronto to host the 1st annual Miss Creole Canada Pageant on October 17th, 2009

    TORONTO, CA – September 1, 2009 – The Miss Creole Canada Committee, announced today that the 1st Annual MISS CREOLE - CANADA Pageant® will take place on October 17th, 2009 at La Villa Ballroom, 114 Toryork Dr. Toronto. The glamorous event will feature some of Canada’s most beautiful women from the French Creole Caribbean. Participantswill also have an opportunity to taste the delicious foods of the French Creole Caribbean.

     

    The Miss Creole Canada Pageant® was founded by Paula Letang-Loblack of Caribbean Star Power Entertainment and Ross Cadasse of TalentBank Canada with assistance from the Miss Creole-Canada Committee. The event will featureeye catching beauties from the French Caribbean islands of Haiti, Dominica and Saint Lucia.

     

    This year’s event will feature nine (9) contestant/ambassadors. The exceptionally beautiful young womenrepresenting Canada’s Creole community are Kanika Ambrose, Roxann Thomas, Yamiley Theodore, Barbara Dorsaint,Medjy Mezilus, Fernande Jean Louis, Jamie Lynell Ellis, Orphanie Leroy and Tatiana Sylvain. The prestigious event will be judged in five (5) categories: Presentation, Swimsuit, Talent, Evening Wear and Interview, as they vie for the coveted title of Miss Creole Canada 2009. Entertainment is expected to be spectacular with the opening number performed by world renowned dance troupe Dance Caribe. Audiences will be thrilled with performances by rising star Shalli, French Creole dancers, and Creole musicians, including Canada’s #1 French Creole music group Levitasyon.

     

    The Miss Creole Canada Committee along with their ambassadors are working hard on what is set to be the biggest campaign of 2009 to bring attention to French Creole Caribbean culture during the Creole month of October.

     

    As a committee the Miss Creole Canada Pageant believes that the more we do the better the world will be. It is with
    this belief in mind that the committee will assist the pageant winner with a monetary gift to be given to her charity ofchoice, in her home island, fulfilling the pageant’s mandate to reach out to communities “at home”.

     

    Pageant organizers are appealing to everyone, not just French Creole nationals or Caribbean nationals to come and celebrate beauty and join hands in celebrating the richness of French Creole culture.
