Over 1300 came out to support the Children’s Home Run Walk

By: St. Christopher Children’s Home, Press Release

November 4th, 2019 -- Organisers raised more than $170,000 at the 10th Annual St. Christopher Children's Home 5K Run and 2K Walk held at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club on a clear sunny Saturday Oct 5 as the hot pink event shirts painted the golf course pink with colour.

The event provides the bulk of the financing for the Home whose mission is to provide a safe, secure and nurturing environment designed to harness, develop and sustain the hopes, talents and aspirations of children placed in residential care.

This year, more than 1300 enthusiastic participants, many dressed in pink event shirts, assembled at the golf course for the usual warm up with Mr. X from Shiggity Shack who for the past 10 years has provided a novel and entertaining warm up for all attendees.

Apart from the physical activity, the supporters of the Home were treated to a sumptuous barbecue lunch served by the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, exquisite raffle prizes and health screenings which were provided by the faculty and students of Windsor Schools of Medicine.
