Press Release

Charlestown, Nevis (Thursday November 28th 2019) — Live at the Vinyard, a new social media show focusing on the talent youth on Nevis will showcase its first artist in the performing arts on December 4th, 2019, at 5 p.m live on Facebook.

Davien Griffin, a New Castle resident, will be the first guest highlighted on the new social media show which will be aired live on Yes Nation on Facebook. During the interview Griffin, who is a recent graduate of the Nevis Sixth form college described his passion for the art.

“I feel like I'm actually going into my own mind, I am finally seeing what I want and put it on the paper, I’'m happy to see that I can do this and I am glad with all the work that I did and practise I could actually do what I want,” he said.

He also used the opportunity to share some wisdom with future artists living in Nevis and finding success in the performing arts industry.

“Nevis is a small place, we don’t really have that much...try and go out more, don't stay in the house all day, especially for young people, because that’s what they do all day. Go out more, sit on the beach, go hiking or something, find something to do and you might find more inspiration in what you want to do,” he said.

Founder and creator of the show, Ervin ‘Ounce’ Weeks explained that the purpose of Live at the Vinyard is to showcase the talented youth on the island but also serves as a good way for him to give back to the community.

The full interview featuring Davien Griffin will be aired on December 4th, 2019 at 5 p.m live on YES Nation’s Facebook page. The programme will highlight each performers talent individually and will feature each performer’s journey.  The show is expected to draw attention to the challenges and opportunities faced within the industry on the island.

Persons interested in participating or recommending talented youth can email cepainskn@gmail.com or contact 660-5043. Direct messages can also communicated via social media platforms, CEPA_SKN on Instagram or CEPA on Facebook.
