BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, December 5, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Prime Minister, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, will preside over the prize giving ceremony marking the end of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition on Sunday December 8 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux.
According to the President of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League Committee, Calvin Farrell, the prize giving ceremony will start at 6:30 pm and he is appealing to all teams and players that took part in the tournament to be punctual.
The league, which is the longest running domino league in the country, is sponsored by Prime Minister and Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.
Mr Farrell explained that the prize giving ceremony will honour all those who took part and assisted in one way or the other to make the 2019 tournament a success. Other domino clubs and domino enthusiasts in the country are invited to witness the colourful ceremony.
Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League attracted eleven teams this year, and history was made when two teams from outside Constituency Number Seven, Parsons Domino Club and Saddlers Domino Club from Constituency Number Six, met in the finals.
Parsons Domino Club of Parsons Ground, who made history last year when they became the first domino club from outside Constituency Number Seven to win the championship, successfully defended the title by beating Saddlers 2-1 games in the finals this year.
Taking the third and fourth places were Unstoppable Domino Club and Guinness Domino Club respectively, while Small Corner Bar Domino Club took the 2019 Best of the Rest championship.
Other teams that took part in the 24th annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition were: Giants Domino Club, Unity Patriots Domino Club, Molineux Domino Club, Sylvers Domino Club, and Christchurch Domino Club.
Phillips Domino Club which took part in the first round of the home and away round-robin format of the tournament had difficulties in raising enough players and opted out after having played only three games. In the games they played they beat the two top teams, Parsons and Saddlers, but lost to Unstoppable.
