By: RCL, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts – On the heels of International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the Rotary Club of Liamuiga welcomed a local entrepreneur working assiduously in this area. Since 1992, the IDPD has been annually observed on 3 December around the world. The theme for this 2019 IDPD was ‘Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda.’

Ms Marcashar Warner, Managing Director of 869-AccXess Services, which is a care management and transportation company, was the guest speaker at the Club’s weekly breakfast meeting on December 4, 2019.

“All of our services are geared towards giving seniors and persons living with disabilities easy access to the quality of life that they deserve,” noted Ms Warner. “We assist these amazing individuals by providing professional in-home/personal care, regular and wheelchair transportation, exercise sessions, and much more.”

During her enlightening presentation, Ms Warner also engaged the Rotarians in simple physical exercise that her company tailors to the respective persons based on their age and physical capabilities, which she advises ensures they enjoy better mobility and improved health. She noted that the scope of their services continues to expand further including private nurse/virtual checks, prescription pickup and delivery and, beach and airport shuttles.

In thanking Ms Warner for her presentation, Chair of Club Services, Director Dwynette D Eversley, congratulated Ms Warner for providing such an apropos service within the Federation and noted the tremendous importance and necessity of caregiver services such as 869-AccXess.
