CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE shock from yesterday’s (Sept. 3) shooting on Government Road had barely died down when there arose reports of yet another life on the island of Nevis being lost due to gun violence.

Reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that Keano Lawrence of Rawlins Village, Gingerland was shot in his head while in the vicinity of Reliable Motors in Charlestown.

The attack was carried out by an unknown assailant just after 8:00 tonight. Lawrence, who is believed to be around 18-years-old, was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital, where doctors attempted to save his life. Their efforts were in vain, however, as SKNVibes was informed just after 9:00 p.m. that the young man had passed away from his wound.

This incident brings to 21 the number of murders in the Federation for 2009, with 18 taking place on St. Kitts and three on Nevis. SKNVibes will bring you more on this story as it unfolds.
