Man shot in early morning robbery

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN early morning home invasion by an armed, masked bandit has resulted in a man being warded at the JNF General Hospital nursing a gunshot wound.

     

    According to a police press release, close to 4:00 a.m. this morning (Jan. 17), the bandit had entered the Ponds Extension home of Shakim Joseph and demanded that he hand over a number of items.

    At some point during the incident, the bandit shot the homeowner.

    He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he is reportedly warded in a stable condition.

    The police, along with members of the Forensic Unit had visited the crime scene and items of evidential were taken into custody.

    As investigations continue, the police are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 467-1888, or 662-3468, the nearest police station or call the Crime Hotline at 707.
