St. Kitts & Nevis Association of Professional Engineers Holds Annual General Meeting

    January 24th, 2020 -- The St. Kitts & Nevis Association of Professional Engineers (SKNAPE) held its Annual General Meeting on Saturday 18th January 2020 at the Gardens Sporting Complex, Mc Knight, Basseterre, St. Kitts. Engineers and related professionals attended this important meeting to elect a new Executive Council for the next two years. The meeting was chaired by the 2018 - 2019 President, Engineer Nubian Greaux.

     

    The SKNAPE was registered in 1980 to safeguard the environment, life, health and the welfare of the public by promoting the advancement of the Engineering profession. 
     
    Elections were held for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and two (2) Executive Members. The elected officials along with the immediate Past President, establish the Executive Council. The role of the Executive Council is to govern the Association and to ensure that the rules, policies, principles and programmes of the organization are carried-out in the best interest of the Association of Professional Engineers and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
     
    The President’s and Treasurer’s Report were presented by Engineer Nubian Greaux and Engineer La Reine Gumbs respectively.

    The Engineers selected for the 2020–2021 Executive Council members are as follows:
     
    President – Mr. Lester Blackett
     
    Vice President – Mr. Calvin James
     
    Secretary – Mr. I-Ronn Audain
     
    Treasurer – Ms. La Reine Gumbs
     
    Executive member – Ms. Soline Ayoub
     
    Executive member- Mr. Sandip Gite
     
    Immediate Past President - Mr. Nubian Greaux
     
    Proposed activities for the year were discussed including the draft Association of Professional Engineers Act. Members agreed that there was need for the Association to take a more prominent and leading role in the promotion of the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). 
     
    The members thanked Engineer Nubian Greaux for his leadership during his tenure as President. 
     
    The members of the Executive Council would like to thank all colleagues who attended the meeting.
     
    The Council calls on all Engineers in the Federation to seek active membership in the Association, and to support the promotion and protection of the Engineering profession.
