Federation records first homicide for 2020

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation has recorded its first homicide for this year with the shooting-death of a member of Newtown United FC and National Football Team midfielder on Friday (Jan. 24).

     

    Dead is 28-year-old Kennedy Isles of Taylor’s Village but who was residing at Sandown Road, Newtown at the time of his demise.

    According to a police press release, preliminary investigations revealed that while outside his residence some time after 9:00 p.m., an armed assailant approached Isles and fired a number of shots at him.

    He was struck multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

    He was pronounced dead by the District Medical Officer who was summoned to the scene.

    Members of the Forensic Unit visited the scene, processed it and collected several items of evidential value.
     
    As investigations continue, the police are an appeal to anyone who might have any information in relation to this incident to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 467-1887, 662-3468, the nearest police station or by dialling the Crime Hotline 707.
