BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MARIAH CAREY’s upcoming album titled ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ will be co-sponsored by the Bahamas Tourism Board.

Bahamian tourism officials have inked the deal with the intention to help boost the declining visitor arrival numbers for the country.

According to Carib World News, the involved parties have not revealed the actual amount of the promotional investment.

The new album, which is set for release later this month, will be accompanied by a 34-page booklet.  This booklet will be filled with glossy adverts featuring the Bahamas prominently along with top perfume, cosmetics and fashion brands that seemingly are underwriting the album.

Carey’s record label, Island Def Jam calls the arrangement a ‘product integration deal’.

Def Jam is optimistic that this sponsorship template will be the first of many such arrangements with its `more commercially minded` artistes like Bon Jovi, Kanye West and Rihanna, according to its chairman, Antonio `L.A` Reid.

The Bahamas recently hosted the Miss Universe Pageant at the Atlantis Resort in hopes of boosting falling tourist arrival figures.
