The Cable gets set to delight seniors with “Make a Wish” on Valentine’s Day

By: The Cable, Press Release

The Cable, 4th February, 2020 -- For the second year in a row The Cable has thrown its support behind The Make A Wish project. The company has announced that it will again be teaming up with the Rotary Club of Liamuiga to spread love to senior citizens across St. Kitts for Valentine’s Day. Similar to last year, the public is being invited to submit their nominations via email or WhatsApp message and once accepted the nominees will be presented with the wish on Valentine’s Day.

“The success of last year’s project was enough for us to decide to do this again this year.  It is such a gratifying feeling to see our seniors beam with delight when they receive their gifts,” CEO Pat Walters shared. She said a senior in almost every community in St. Kitts was on the receiving end of food hampers, bouquets, sheet sets and the like last year. “It’s just the act of kindness and not necessarily the value that moves some of the recipients. Like the gentleman in Lodge who had his bathroom plumbing repaired after many months,” she recounted.

When the company took on the initiative last year, it was done in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Liamuiga. This year the members of the club will again assist with preparing the gifts and the joint distribution with staff of The Cable.

Individuals or organisations may submit their nominations via one of several media by sending the name, address and the wish for the nominee via What’s App on: 869 662 7742. Using email, the information should be sent to makeawish@thecable.biz or liamuiga.rotary@gmail.com The deadline for nominations is Thursday 7th February.

Full details of the project are currently being circulated via a poster on social media including the Instagram and Facebook pages of The Cable and The Rotary Club of Liamuiga.
