Roadtown, Tortola - Mister Speaker, would the Honourable Minister of Natural Resources and Labour please tell this Honourable House:
    a) How many female cattle are now impounded at Paraquita Bay and whether or not they are branded as is required by the Pounds and Livestock Brand Act 2004; and
    b) whether or not there are any male cattle impounded there?

    Answer:

    a) Mister Speaker, Sir, there are 12 cattle impounded at Paraquita Bay. All are female.  Under the Pounds and Livestock Brands Act 2004, the owner of Livestock has the responsibility of ensuring that all their Livestock are branded.  An animal can be forfeited to the Crown if it does not bear the Brand of its owner when it is captured in any public place or if the owner has been fined on at least three (3) previous occasions for the same animal.

    b)   Mister Speaker, there are no male cattle impounded at Paraquita Bay.
