CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – AN autopsy performed on 17-year-old Kiyana Lawrence, who was gunned down on September 4 in Charlestown, showed the cause of death to be a single gunshot wound to the head.

Lawrence, who would have celebrated his 18th birthday on September 9, was shot in the vicinity of Reliance Motors. He later succumbed at the Alexandra Hospital.

The autopsy was performed by forensic pathologist Dr. Stephen Jones of Barbados.

Two persons were arrested on the night of the shooting to assist police with their investigations, but have since been released.
Meanwhile, head of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Charlestown Police Station Inspector Hilroy Brandy said that investigations are ongoing in the three murders on Nevis for 2009.

Along with Lawrence, police are also investigating the killing of Steven Thomas, who was gunned down on August 3rd in Stoney Grove, and Akeon Claxton, who died on August 22nd in Bath Village.

Police are asking the general public to come forward with any information that would help to solve these crimes.
