BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE say that a suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a brazen shooting in the vicinity of the Basseterre Police Station along Cayon Street.
Though no injuries were reported, police said sometime after 7 a.m. today (Mar. 15), “the rider of a motorcycle fired gunshots into the air along the stretch of Cayon Street leading up to the Queen Victory Roundabout”
Police did not identify the suspect taken into custody.
Images circulating on social media show the area in front of the police station cordoned off while investigators carry out their investigations collecting items of evidential value.
Investigations into the matter are currently ongoing. Persons who might have seen or heard something in relation to this incident, or have any other information regarding the matter, are asked to contact the Violent Crime Unit.
