KINGSTON, Jamaica- MAVADO continues to make big hits and collaborate with major artistes in the music industry; the latest of whom is Alicia Keys.

The Jamaican singer landed a deal to collaborate on a Reggae track with R&B songstress Alicia Keys after performing last Friday night at HOT97’s ‘On Da Reggae Tip Show’.

The name of the track they will be collaborating on has not been released.

Word is it will be released very soon to generate buzz for Keys’ long-awaited third studio album.  The nine-time Grammy Award winner’s album titled ‘As I Am’ is set for a worldwide release on Friday, November 13.

According to 876radio.com, Mavado made a statement on his collaboration with Keys.  "I am very focused on my career right now and I'm just trying to elevate myself and Jamaica on a whole through music. Working with Alicia is an honour and a pleasure," he said.

"My management and hers got together to make it happen and there was a great chemistry in the studio," continued Mavado. "It’s the first time I've sung on a Studio One [Jamaica’s most prolific recording label and recording studio] riddim and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Alicia loved it too and I'm sure we will be working together on projects in the future."

It probably seems like déjà vu for Mavado.  Last year, after performing on the same show, he landed a recording gig for a Lil Kim song featuring Wyclef Jean.  The dancehall inspired track titled ‘Caribbean Connection’ is making strides on the airwaves and receiving positive feedback.
