CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – PREMIER, Hon. Joseph Parry and Deputy Premier, Hon. Hensley Daniel will headline a list of speakers at a memorial ceremony on Sunday in honour of former horse trainer and jockey Dan Bartlette.

The ceremony is part of the Dan Bartlette Memorial Meet at the Indian Castle race track and the Premier will be attending in his capacity as Minister of Tourism, and the Deputy Premier as Minister of Sports.

Starting time is 1:30 p.m. and the first of five scheduled races is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.

According to information received from Nevis Horse Racing chief Emmanuel Jeffers, races would feature the top horses on the island and some eight out of Antigua, along with two of that country’s leading jockeys.

The first race will feature local thoroughbreds and will be followed by two filly classics. The day’s final race will be ‘The Dan Bartlette Memorial Race’.
