Digicel, the fastest growing GSM mobile telecommunications provider in the Caribbean, has reached a significant milestone in its mission to expand its pan-Caribbean GSM network with service launches in three new territories: Anguilla, Bermuda and St. Kitts & Nevis.

These launches are a result of Digicel's agreement to acquire Cingular Wireless' Caribbean and Bermuda operations earlier this year. Along with recent licenses in Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti, the dynamic company is on course to operate in 15 countries by early 2006, covering a total population of 14 million people.
With an ongoing commitment to being the number one mobile provider of choice, Digicel brings its four year track record and reputation to all three new markets with differentiating characteristics that include superior customer care, innovative service offerings, competitive rates and unbeatable coverage. The company's flagship operation, Digicel Jamaica, reached 1.376 million subscribers in November 2005 based on its quality customer service and innovative product attributes.
"We welcome the people of Anguilla, Bermuda and St. Kitts & Nevis to the Digicel family," said Denis O'Brien, founder and chairman of Digicel Group during the launch event. "Our industry leading service and unmatched customer care continue to put us in a position of strength as we roll-out a seamless telecommunications network throughout the pan-Caribbean region. We look forward to building strong relationships with our new customers through our superior offerings and active participation in the local communities."
The unique services available for the first time to Digicel customers in these markets include Closed User Groups; Rollover Minutes, where unused talktime rolls over to the next month; Call Me, which allows customers to stay in touch when credit is low; prepaid and postpaid roaming, and access to a comprehensive roaming network of 220 roaming partners in over 100 countries.
Minister of Telecommunications and E-commerce, the Honourable Michael J. Scott welcomed Digicel's entry into Bermuda, a country which enjoys one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. He said, "Digicel's impressive track record as a community minded telecoms provider is well-known and welcomed. It's introduction of new products & services, and commitment to excellence combined with Digicel's customer centric focus and business optimisation will not only add value to the Bermuda telecoms scene but will bring to market a new and dynamic player that compliments our well-established ICT industry."
With investments in the region approaching US$1 billion, Digicel has gained an average 62% market share across all its existing islands of operations and employs over 1,500 people in the Caribbean.
