By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are currently making attempts to piece together the puzzle of a shooting that took place earlier today in the McKnight area.

At about 9:30 a.m., SKNVibes received information suggesting that a shooting had occurred at Shaw Avenue and one individual was injured.

Initially, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Cromwell Henry indicated to this media house that he was not aware of the situation and would have to make inquiries.

He subsequently informed that at about 9:00 this morning, police responded to a report which indicated that sounds of gunfire were heard in the Shaw Avenue area.

Henry said that upon their arrival, the officers conducted investigations and “evidence of a shooting” was found but, according to information gathered, no one was injured during the incident.

He noted that no other useful information was obtained; however, investigations into the incident are ongoing.

“We continue to appeal to the public to assist the police in these investigations by volunteering whatever information you may have,” Henry entreated.

Information-bearers are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 ext 220 or 230.  Received information will be handled with strict confidence.
