BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE on St. Kitts have launched a probe into the death of a 59-year-old woman who was found dead in her home yesterday (Sept. 26).

According to a police report, officers responded to a call from Emergency Medical Service Personnel from the Stonefort Heights Project home of Sandra Adams.

On arrival, the lawmen found an unresponsive Adams in her room with a cord wrapped about her neck.

Media reports suggested that the woman committed suicide.

However, police said in their report that circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear at this time and investigations into the matter are ongoing.

An autopsy is expected to be carried out shortly to determine the exact cause of death.

This latest incident comes just over two weeks after the death of 21-year-old Andrew Douglas, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his head.

Police have not yet provided the full circumstances surrounding the man’s death, only indicating that death was as a result of severe traumatic brain injury caused by a single gunshot wound to the head.

Investigations are still ongoing into this matter.
