    Queen Mary II passengers returning from a sailing expidition on Sunday afternoon.
    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 5TH 2005
     - The majestic 150,000 tonne Queen Mary II with 2,464 passengers and 1,295 crew made its first of five stops in St. Kitts for the 2005/2006 cruise ship season on Sunday.
    The world's largest and most expensive cruise liner docked at Port Zante from New York under the command of Captain Bernard Warner, who is in Master of the ship for one week. Captain Warner, a descendant of Sir Thomas Warner, is no stranger to St. Kitts, as he has been the Commanding Officer of the Dawn Princess, which has visited here on several occasions.
     
    Captain Warner told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister he experienced no difficulty in berthing the Queen Mary 2, despite the windy conditions on Sunday.
     
    Several business places opened Sunday to allow the passengers who disembarked to shop and eat local cuisine, while others went on sight-seeing tours via taxis and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, sun and sea-bathing, hiking, horse-back riding, snorkeling, golfing, kayaking and sailing.
     
    The Queen Mary 2, which arrived from Grenada left for St. Thomas before returning to New York. Other calls scheduled for St. Kitts are on December 16th and 24th, January 19th and April 11th.
     
    On Monday, the Golden Princess arrived from St. Thomas with 2,815 passengers and 1,084 crew before departing
    The Queen Mary II docked at Port Zante on Sunday.
    at 3 P.M. for Grenada.
     
    The Empress of the Seas with 2,020 passengers visits on Wednesday, the 1,950-passenger Sea Princess, the 2,449 passenger Constellation and the 180-passenger Star Clipper visit on Thursday, while the Arcadia with 2,534 passengers dock on Friday and on Saturday, the 1,650-passenger Ocean Village berths on Saturday.
     
    Last week Saturday, the 850-passenger Marco Polo and the 1,266 passenger Maasdam docked at Port Zante.
