Thieves break into Basseterre barber shop

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOR the second time in less than two years, owner of the Young Blood Barber Shop on Cayon Street, Basseterre has suffered losses at the hands of thieves.

Information reaching SKNVibes states that between the time the barber shop was closed for business on Saturday (Sept. 19) and before 6:00 yesterday morning, a thief or thieves had entered the premises and removed a 13-inch television and a hair-cutting machine.

According to Junior Gordon, at about 6:00 a.m. an officer at the Basseterre Police Station informed him of the break-in and he subsequently notified the owner, Dave Osborne, of the incident.

On his arrival at the business premises, Osborne opened the door and on investigating found the two items missing. Further investigation revealed that the thief/thieves had entered the shop through a wooden window in the rear of the building after damaging the hinges.

This media house also learned that the break-in was discovered by a male member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church situated next to the barber shop.

No one was held in connection with the incident but police investigations are ongoing.
