BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have arrested and slapped 29-year-old Rae Clarke of Mattingley Heights with a charge in connection with the death of Conrad Simon of Wellington Road.

According to a police report, he was arrested and charged with the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.

In an earlier report, police investigations revealed that around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday (Oct. 15) while Clarke was travelling along Cayon Street, driving motorcycle PB 5341, Simon, 81, had stepped down from the sidewalk onto the roadway in the vicinity of the pedestrian crossing on Pond Road.

That action had caused Clarke to collided with Simon, which resulted in him receiving a cut and minor bruise on his feet.

Simon was reportedly treated on the spot and was taken to the JNF Hospital, where he later succumbed.

Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez had performed an autopsy on Simon’s body on Monday (Oct. 19) and concluded that death was due to traumatic shock as a consequence of multiple traumatic injuries due to the traffic accident.
