Basseterre, St. Kitts - Fulfilling its mandate to ‘serve the children of the world’, the Kiwanis Club of Liamuiga presented a hamper of baby items to the 2009 Independence Baby on September 19th, 2009.
The presentation was made to the proud mother of the Independence Baby, Mrs. Cynthia Daley, who thankfully accepted the gift on behalf of her newborn son and her husband, Mr. Ray Daley.
Coordinator of the Independence Baby Project, Mrs. Jeweleen Manners-Woodley, said that the presentation was an annual one for the organization, and a special way of celebrating the nation’s youth. “Kiwanis is a community service Club that focuses specifically on the development of our children and young people, and so we’re happy to help Baby Daley have the best start possible by welcoming him into the world with this hamper of goods”, she said.
The Kiwanis Club of Liamuiga was chartered in 2004, and is part of the worldwide Kiwanis organization, dedicated to ‘changing the world, one community and one child at a time’. This is the fourth annual presentation made by the Club to the Federation’s Independence Baby.
