ROSEAU, Dominica - PREPARATIONS for the 13th Annual World Creole Music Festival has stepped up and the date for its hosting at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium in Dominica is from October 30 to November 1.

According to wcmfdominica.com, a media launch was held sometime last month at the Fort Young Hotel, where they introduced the signature events to be held during this year's Independence celebration and highlighted the activities surrounding the three nights of vivacious rhythms.

Friday, October 30 will feature Swinging Stars, Allan Cave backed by Zin, La Perfecta, Patrick Saint-Eloi, and Music For Real (MFR), while the following day will see DLUX, Sweet Mickey, Morgan Heritage and Triple Kay International rocking the stage.

Finally, on Sunday November 1, the curtains will come down with Michele Henderson, Maxi Priest, Nature Boyz Band and Winward Caribbean Kulture (WCK).

The establishment of the Dominica World Creole Music Festival by the Dominica Festivals Commission has ushered in the newest music festival in the Caribbean. This festival is widely seen as one of the only truly indigenous music event in Dominica and the Eastern Caribbean by extension.

Since the festival is held around the time of Dominica’s Independence celebrations, patrons and visitors to the island are afforded numerous opportunities to sample the local cuisine and get an appreciation of the rich cultural attributes of the nature island.
