BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - An autopsy conducted on the body of New Road resident Oral Coulbourne confirmed that his death was as a result of Asphyxia due to drowning.

According to a police press release, the autopsy was performed by Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez on Friday (Nov. 6).

Police had stated that they received a report at about midday on Monday (Nov. 2) that “a body was on the beach in Newtown on the end closest to the Industrial Site”.

Investigations, at that time, revealed that the motionless body of 58-year-old  Oral Coulbourne was seen floating in the water by a passer-by, who took it ashore with assistance from another individual.

The District Medical Officer was summoned to the scene and pronounced him dead.
