By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - THE Police Force has confirmed that 19-year-old Jesroy Mulcaire of Zion Village, Nevis indeed died as a result of drowning.

In releasing the findings of the autopsy report, the Police Force explained that Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez found that “death was as a result of drowning due to a cerebral contusion he received when he fell from the boat”.

Cerebral contusion is said to be brain damage resulting from affected brain tissues.

According to a police communiqué, “On October 30, the Police received a report at about 7 p.m. that someone fell overboard from the M.V. Apple Syder at the Ferry Terminal.”

Investigations had revealed that Mulcaire, who was a crew member on the ferry, went to the bow of the vessel on the port side in preparation for docking when he fell into the water.

The St. Kitts and Nevis Coast had responded and searched for Mulcaire, with assistance from members of Ken's Diving Center.

Mulcaire’s body was later retrieved close by and taken ashore, where he was pronounced dead by the District Medical Doctor.
