Police provide details on sexagenarian’s death

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have provided more details regarding the traffic accident that resulted in the death of 62-year-old Arthur Jacobs of Ponds Pasture.

     

    According to a police communiqué, the accident occurred on the Bay Road in the vicinity of SOL Station sometime after 6:00 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 13) and had involved motor SUV P7985, which is owned and was driven by Inshan Mohammed of Pine Gardens, Shadwell Housing, and pedestrian Jacobs.

     

    It also stated that initial investigation revealed that Mohammed was travelling from Birdrock towards Central Basseterre and, after passing the main entrance of the Sol Station, he collided with Jacobs who was, at the time, crossing the road from the seaside to the mountain side.

     

    Jacobs was transported by an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service to the JNF General Hospital where he later died. 

     

    Police stated that an autopsy would be performed to determine his exact cause of death and, as investigations are ongoing, they are urging persons with information regarding this incident to contact the Traffic Department by calling 465-2241, the nearest police station or the Crime Hotline 707.
