BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - POLICE have charged 44-year-old Inshan Mohammed of Pine Gardens, Shadwell Housing in connection with the Bay Road accident that resulted in the death of 62-year-old Arthur Jacobs of Ponds Pasture.

Police arrested Mohammed yesterday (Nov. 17) and charged  him with the offense of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving.

According to a police statement, Jacobs was a pedestrian when he was struck by Mohammed sometime after 6:00 pm on Friday (Nov. 13) on Bay Road in the vicinity of SOL Station.

As SKNVibes reported, an initial investigation revealed that Mohammed was travelling from Birdrock towards Central Basseterre and, after passing the main entrance of the Sol Station, he collided with Jacobs who was at the time, crossing the road from the seaside to the mountainside.

An autopsy conducted on the deceased by Resident Pathologist Dr. Adrian Nunez Monday (Nov. 16) concluded that “his death was as a result of multiple shocks and multiple trauma injuries”.
